Reformed University Fellowship (RUF) is the campus ministry of the PCA that reaches college students from all backgrounds with the hope of Jesus Christ. One of the ways RUF is unique on campus is that it sends ordained ministers to the college campus to serve and pastor students. College is a time when beliefs are explored, decisions are made, and lives are changed. RUF invites students into authentic relationships and the study of God’s Word through weekly large group gatherings, small group bible studies, and pastoral discipleship. RUF’s mission is to “reach students for Christ and equip them to serve.” Through the ministry of RUF, students discover the love of Christ, find their significance in God’s redemptive story, and engage in the life of His church.

We are proud to announce the first RUF Connect Conference on March 29, 2025 at McLean Presbyterian Church. RUF staff and ministers from major universities across DC, VA, and MD, will be represented, including, but not limited to:

  • Christopher Newport University (CNU)
  • College of William and Mary (W&M)
  • Howard University (HU)
  • James Madison University (JMU)
  • University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC)
  • University of Maryland, College Park (UMCP)
  • University of Virginia (UVA)
  • Virginia Tech (VT)

At this conference, we hope to:

  • Connect students with those in RUF who will be on the ground at their university, ready to support and disciple them while in college.
  • Inform and educate families and churches on the importance of RUF and college ministry as students prepare for college.
  • Engage in dialogue about ways that we in the DC area can better support RUF and prepare our children for the college experience.
  • Share with our churches the experiences of RUF staff and students as they evangelize and disciple on our university campuses.
  • Answer questions from families and prospective university students regarding what to expect on campus, and how best to strengthen their faith in that secular sphere.
  • Welcome RUF alumni to share their experiences.
  • Encourage ministers and staff as we fellowship and learn together.

Our vision is that the Lord would use this conference to better connect students with RUF for the transition to their campuses, to connect individual families with RUF staff working on the ground, and to encourage the churches and communities in the DC area with news of the evangelistic outreach and discipleship that the Lord is performing through Reformed University Fellowship.
