EVENT SCHEDULE
This group event consists of:
- 9:30–11am: GUIDED TOUR*
Our tour guide will be Don Frahler, who has nine years of experience at the museum. He will provide a 1.5 hour MOTB Highlights tour and give an overview of the Dead Sea Scrolls, which are on loan from the Israel Antiquities Authority and will only be at the MOTB through September.
*Due to limited capacity, our guided MOTB Highlights tour is included only for the first 30 registrants.
- 11–11:30am: DEAD SEA SCROLLS (DSS)
DSS is a 30-minute walkthrough that includes two videos, a 1st century boat display, stones from the temple mount, the Magdala stone, the Ten Commandments display, eight actual parchment fragments from the DSS discoveries, numerous other displays and an opportunity to write a prayer to be sent to the Western Wall of the Temple Mount in Jerusalem.
- 11:30AM: ON YOUR OWN — Enjoy lunch, take the WASHINGTON REVELATIONS (WR) ride, and explore the museum at your leisure.
WR is a 6-minute exhilarating aerial motion-platform “ride” — you’ll “fly” past iconic places like the Lincoln Memorial, through the US Capitol, and over the Washington Monument as you discover biblical imagery and verses all around Washington, DC. Some people get seasick from this “ride”.
Other recommended exhibits to explore (in order):
- Hebrew Bible exhibit (highly recommended; 30-minute walkthrough)
- World of Jesus of Nazareth tour
- New Testament exhibit
- America 250 exhibit
- All Creation Sings (music and video immersive activity; additional cost)
- Children’s Experience
