Is your child looking for help to catch up, keep up, or get ahead this school year? I provide personalized one-on-one tutoring for students from kindergarten through 12th grade, with a focus on building both academic skills and confidence.
I currently tutor students attending Arlington Public Schools and local private and independent schools, including Flint Hill School, The Potomac School, Congressional School, and Christian and Catholic schools. I am familiar with a wide range of curricula and tailor instruction to each student’s specific coursework, learning needs, and goals.
Subjects include:

• Mathematics — elementary math, pre-Algebra, Algebra I & II, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Precalculus

• SAT & SSAT preparation — math and verbal
I am a former 5th- and 6th-grade mathematics teacher with dual undergraduate degrees in English and Art Studio. I also bring a background in management consulting of leading global learning, strategy, organizational, and transformation initiatives.
My tutoring approach is patient, encouraging, creative, and structured. I take the time to understand how each student learns, identify specific areas of difficulty, and develop instruction and practice around those needs. My goal is not simply to help students complete homework, but to help them understand the material, develop effective problem-solving skills, cultivate curiosity, and become more confident and independent learners.
I have helped students make significant academic gains, including improving grades from Fs to Cs, Ds to Bs, and Cs to As. For example, one student began tutoring with me in late May while earning a C in pre-Algebra. After just nine tutoring sessions, the student earned a 96% on the cumulative end-of-year math final in June, raising the final course grade to a B.
I also provide highly individualized SAT preparation, beginning with full-length practice exams to identify strengths and areas of difficulty, then developing targeted instruction, customized practice, and SAT-specific strategies. The goal is not only stronger performance, but helping students develop the skills and confidence to approach challenging problems systematically rather than feeling intimidated by them.
