Crosstrainers is an intentionally small community (typically, 8–12 participants) of career women. Discussions focus on faith and vocation; this is an environment where Christ-centered perspectives and encouragement provide support to you — particularly as a follower of Christ at your workplace.
Additionally, we lean into one-on-one mentorship — each participant is paired with a mentor who understands your career season and may have had similar work or life experiences.
Another distinctive is our annual retreat — we begin our year together by getting away for an interpersonal and connected time. The retreat sets the tone for Crosstrainers: we’re a tight-knit sisterhood with a deep commitment to walk alongside one another as career women who love Jesus.
“As a single woman in the workplace, I am thankful for the Crosstrainers ministry as a means to connect with other women at various career stages and with diverse professional backgrounds. The community that we have built is a great encouragement to me; we support each other, we pray together, and we equip each other to thrive in the intersection of faith and vocation.”
“What a blessing to be part of a church that honors and seeks to disciple women whom God has called to vocations in the marketplace. I am grateful for the teaching, discussion, and fellowship I have experienced in Crosstrainers.”
“Crosstrainers provided a depth in studying God’s Word, mentoring, and integration of faith-focused materials that has grown my walk with Jesus and strengthened me to consistently live my faith through my work.”
Crosstrainers participants commit to attending:
- Monthly Saturday group meetings during September through May (at McLean Presbyterian Church),
- Monthly meetings with your mentor (at a mutually-decided location), and
- Our October retreat (at Sugarloaf Mountain, MD).
Our community of women actively cares for one another, providing support that comes out of our shared commitment that spans the academic year.
