Premarital Counseling: Marriage Foundations

Marriage Foundations is our premarital class; it is required for those who wish to be married at our church. This weekend course covers a number of relevant topics and is offered multiple times a year. Counseling appointments are included for those who participate in the course and include 6-month and 1 year post-marriage check-ins.

Recommended resources include The Meaning of Marriage by Tim Keller; What Did You Expect? by Paul Tripp; Love & Respect by Emerson Eggerichs.

Marriage Mentors

Mentor couples come alongside young marrieds (couples married less than three years) as you build a strong foundation for your marriage. For details, please contact Bruce & Nancy Young at [email protected] Mentor couples will soon be available for couples married 4 – 15 years.

Workshops and Seminars

Ongoing workshops and conferences cover topics such as communication, conflict resolution, and parenting. Biblically-guided teaching and couples’ breakout sessions help you connect to your spouse and strengthen your relationship. Check the church calendar for upcoming events.

Support for Military Families

More than one in ten persons in our church is current or former military. Connect with other military members and find support, whether you are stateside or deployed.

Transitioning to or from the Capital region? We’d be honored to assist you in whatever way(s) we can, regardless of whether you choose to attend our church. Connect with one of our pastors Nathan Newman, who is also an Air Force Reserve Chaplain, at [email protected].

Ch Newman is available for one-on-one counseling; all meetings are covered under Privileged Communication and are 100 percent confidential. This privilege belongs to military members, dependents, and other authorized Department of Defense members.

Looking for Counseling?

There are lay counselors available to walk through difficult seasons with you, and Renewal Groups meet to support each other in areas like grief, substance abuse, and sexual addiction.
