In our church, it’s standard practice for our Senior Pastors to take a sabbatical. James hasn’t ever taken one, so the elders have encouraged him to do so this summer. A sabbatical provides an opportunity for proactive rest and refreshment for our senior pastor, helping ensure a long and fruitful ministry with our church. James will be on sabbatical from May 16 – August 16.

During his time away from our pulpit, James will be teaching a class at Reformed Theological Seminary and hopes to work on some writing projects. He’ll also have the opportunity to spend some additional time with his family, and enjoy the summer as they prepare to send his oldest daughter to college.

James, Rosie, and their family plan on being in the area for most of the sabbatical and will worship with us throughout. During the sabbatical, we ask that you don’t raise church business with James. When you see him at church this summer, treat James a friend, not our senior pastor.
