1 bedroom available to a male housemate starting Saturday August 10th 2019 ($550/month) in a beautiful, large house in the City of Falls Church.

Bedroom is in a finished attic with plenty of space, sharing a full bathroom with one other housemate. The room is partially furnished as well: includes a double bed, dresser, clothes bureau, shelves, and hanging racks. The room is unusually larger and has additional wallspace for tenant’s desk or a few other personal furnishings. The second level has a laundry room, and the main floor is all common space and includes a kitchen, dining room, and TV room/den. There are several other young men living in the house…a couple downstairs and a few upstairs. The house is large, so living space is not cramped.

The house is about half a mile from the West Falls Church Metro station (about a 12-minute walk). Giant, Harris Teeter, Whole Foods, and Trader Joe’s are nearby. The famous W&OD walk/bike trail is about 100 yards from the house, and downtown Falls Church is about a 15-minute walk away. Tyson’s Corner is about 7 minutes away by car. Easy access to Route 7, US 29, I-66 and decent access to US 50 and I-495. Nearby bus routes make WMATA Metro access easy if walking is not an option. There are two parking spots in the driveway, and street parking is readily available (city decal controlled).

In addition to rent, utilities run between $90 – $140 per month (average of roughly $120/month) according to the actual costs, which are split evenly among all tenants each month. Utilities include water/sewer/electric/gas, high speed WiFi internet, basic cable TV, some house supplies, and a cleaning service to help keep the house clean. The attic space has a new high-capacity window air conditioner that the tenant may use independently as needed.

This house has a great group of Christian guys in their 20s, and we’d like to find someone who is willing to engage with others in the house as our paths cross. We all respect each others’ privacy but try to share and encourage each other in our walks with God. We also desire someone who is relatively clean and mindful of others. Also looking for a longer-term tenant (at least one full year or more), but open to shorter-term tenants. Please nothing less than 6 months.

Notes and disclosures:
(1) Freezer/Refrigerator space is limited and must be shared with other housemates. There is room to store your food, but not a lot of space.
(2) Landlord lives on-site, along with his elderly mother, who each have one of the bedrooms in the house. They both share the common space.
(3) Because of the unusually large size of the attic room, it may also be used, from time to time, by a visiting male family member of the landlord on an inflatable mattress for a few nights at a time. This should not impinge upon the space allotted to the attic tenant, is an infrequent occurrence, and is of short duration, but it something to be aware of.
(4) As of this year, Falls Church City requires all vehicles parked on the street or driveways to have a decal. Be sure to register your vehicle with Falls Church to prevent being towed.
