What Do You Do At MOPS?
We meet on Thursdays from September until early May. At our meetings we hear inspiring messages from speakers and connect through discussions and care groups. MOPS meetings are designed to bring you a morning of rest, fellowship, and education. A typical meeting includes:
Practical Help: Need some inspiration? Most meetings include a speaker who will offer practical insights into the issues that are important to you as a mom.
Personal Mentoring: Meet a Mentor Mom who has been through it all and has great advice and a willing ear.
Time to Chat: At each meeting there is time to get to know other moms in an accepting small group atmosphere.
Sometimes You’ll Get Crafty: We like to try new things and be creative!
Learn to Lead: MOPS groups are organized and run by mothers. Looking for a way to get involved? There are opportunities to gain leadership skills through the experience provided by MOPS.
MOPS Kids is a special program just for our little ones! While you are enjoying a special morning, your children are enjoying playtime with nurturing caregivers. For older children, this includes stories, crafts, and songs.
Social Distancing & Safety
We encourage all attendees to follow CDC and VA state guidance on masking; we will not be checking any individual’s vaccination status.
In line with state guidance, we are asking kids ages 5 and older who are not fully vaccinated to wear a face mask while participating in indoor activities. At the moment, Children’s Ministry staff and volunteers will continue to wear masks indoors per state guidance. We are closely following these guidelines and will update as they change.
We are no longer social distancing.
Our staff and volunteers are following all basic prevention measures, including frequent hand washing, covering coughs, and self-evaluating for symptoms, staying home if we or anyone in our household are sick. Please join us in these important actions, and if you or anyone in your household is exhibiting any symptoms, has known exposure to a COVID-19 positive individual, or is awaiting a COVID-19 test result.
Cleaning & Ventilation
We ensure that all CDC cleaning guidelines are followed.
We are maintaining additional ventilation, having increased the amount of fresh outside air that’s being circulated through the HVAC system and continue to keep doors/windows open during programs.
