Welcome to MPC's Children's Ministry

Hi there! We’re so excited to meet your family and get to know your kids. We want your first visit to our church to be fun and simple; it’s our hope that you will experience our warm community and that your kids will be free to encounter gospel grace during their visit.

Our Ministries

Your littlest ones are placed in nursery rooms based on the following age groups: 0 – 7 months, 8 – 17 months, and 18 – 30 months. Children graduate up to the next room based on their age, and also on milestones such as crawling and talking.

For older ages, we follow the Fairfax County school system cut-off date of September 30. Children graduate up to the next class each year on the first Sunday after Labor Day.

Here are the options for your family, based on your kids’ ages:

  • Ages 0 – 3 years will be cared for in our nursery, which is available at all service times.
  • Ages 4 years – 1st grade may attend Children’s Church during our 8:30AM, 11:30AM & 5:15PM services. Your children are encouraged to worship with you during the first portion of the service; before the sermon begins, you may walk your child to Children’s Church downstairs. After the sermon, you can pick them up downstairs.
  • 4 years – 6th grade have Sunday School classes at the 10 & 11:30AM services.
  • Grades 4 – 6 also have the opportunity to fellowship and learn on select Sunday nights through , while grades 2 – 3 gather during the sermon for Club 23.

If you have teens, we encourage you to explore our Student Ministries!

When You Get Here

On your first visit with us, please stop by our children’s Welcome Desk, which is located in the Grand Foyer on the lower level of the church. A volunteer will be ready to check-in your kids and help you find the classroom(s) you need. All classrooms are located on the lower floor of our church. The Nursing Mother’s Room is located on the upper floor in the parlor, to the right of the sanctuary

Check-In

We seek to provide a safe, healthy, stimulating environment where your kids feel confident to learn and explore. All regular volunteers are screened and the church implements a Child Abuse Prevention Policy, which includes staffing each room with a minimum of two adults.

To ensure safety, we implement an electronic check-in system. For your first visit, please visit our Welcome Desk to check in your children.

Nursery Guidelines

We’re sure you probably have a few questions about what to send with your littlest ones, so we have compiled some helpful information. The nursery opens 15 minutes prior to our worship services and remains open approximately 15 minutes after services.
