Join the MPC community for a relaxing weekend with inspiring worship and relaxing fellowship! Whether you are new to MPC and looking to connect or a long-time member who is looking forward to our evenings of fellowship on the porch, this weekend is the perfect opportunity to deepen your relationships with God and one another.
About the Speaker
Dr. Jim Coffield is a licensed psychologist as well as a Professor of Counseling and the Clinical Director of the M.A. in Counseling degree program at Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando. He brings a wide variety of teaching and clinical experiences, including counseling in private practice, college counseling centers, church based counseling centers, and hospital settings, as well as 20+ years of teaching experience in undergraduate and graduate settings. Dr. Coffield is a frequent speaker on parenting, marriage, masculinity and femininity, conflict resolution, and other relational topics.
He has been married to Mona since 1985 and they have three adult children, Skylar, Pearce, & Kim.
Shrine Mont is located in the town of Orkney Springs in the Shenandoah Valley, about 100 miles west of Washington, DC. This peaceful retreat center nestled in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains offers a variety of activities, including swimming, hiking, tennis, and more.
Please plan to depart by 5pm on Friday, August 25. Please be sure to eat dinner before you arrive. Shrine Mont is about a two hour drive from the DC area. We will head back after lunch on Sunday.
For Your Kids
While adults enjoy engaging sessions and teaching, our children (6 weeks – rising 6th grade) will be engaged by special programming and activities developed specifically for them.

Logistics & What to Pack
Three meals on Saturday and two meals on Sunday are included in the cost. Bedding and bath towels will be provided, but bring your own beach towel. The Lodge charges extra for cribs, so bring your own Pack ’n Play for babies and toddlers.
What to Bring: Bible, fan, casual clothes, bathing suits, beach towels, pack’n’play for toddlers/babies, and a fan. Also every person/couple should bring chips or dessert and juice or soda for the refreshment table. And did we mention, a fan!
