Roommate needed in Columbia Heights

Housing

Looking for roommate(s) in a great rowhouse in Columbia Heights. Preferably Christian and desiring to live in community. I am a deacon at a church in the neighborhood (Grace Meridian Hill).

Roommate Needed – Columbia Heights Rowhouse

Looking for a roommate to share a 3BR/2BA rowhouse starting in March.

This newly renovated 1330 sq ft row house has 3 bedrooms + 2.5 baths (with jacuzzis). The house is equipped with a Nest thermostat, home alarm system, washer/dryer, and stainless steel appliances (including a dishwasher). The first floor has an open layout that is fantastic for hosting — dining room can fit 12 people seated; the spacious, open living area, buffet-style kitchen island, and curated backyard (think perennials, Crape Myrtles, string lights, and astro turf) are great for entertaining. The property includes parking for two cars (can fit up to 2 SUVs) behind the backyard and ample street parking are available. Click here to see pictures of the house and neighborhood.

The house is conveniently located on Irving between Sherman and Georgia, across from Bruce Monroe Park. With a walking score of 91, the house is considered a “Walker’s Paradise” (in other words, daily errands do not require a car). It’s a 3-minute walk to major bus lines – 70/79, H1/H2/H3/H4, 63/64 buses – and a 10-minute walk to the Columbia Heights metro. Several Capital Bikeshare and zip car stations are within a 2-block radius.

Other nearby amenities, within a 5-block radius, include:

Great eats/drinks – Colony Club (a beautiful coffee shop that’s right around the corner), Harrar Coffee, Small Fry and Union Drinkery (same owners as Sundevich), Room 11, Bad Saints, Looking Glass, The Coupe, Meridian Pint, and so many more.
Groceries/daily errands – corner stores all around, Odd Provisions, Giant, Target, Bed Bath & Beyond, Safeway, Georgia Avenue Post Office, Enterprise Car Rental.
Outdoor/activities space – Bruce Monroe Park, equipped with basketball and tennis courts, kid’s playground, and community garden (right across the street), BloomBars, Yoga Heights, Salsa with Silvia, Washington Sports Club, Banneker community park and swimming pool.
Bookstore/reading spaces – Wall of Books, Sankofa Cafe.
Schools – Cesar Chavez Prep Middle School, Harriet Taubman Elementary School, El Haynes Public Charter School, Howard University.
Rent is $1650 per month and includes water. Available in mid-March 2018 for lease to begin no later than April 1, 2018. Two year lease preferred, option to extend.
