Christian Legal Society, a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to religious liberty, Christian legal aid for the poor, and ministry to attorneys and law students, is seeking a coordinator for our national office in Springfield, Virginia. The position is responsible for assisting, researching and eventually managing portions of our development and communications programs.

The Coordinator reports to the Directors of Development and Attorney Ministries, and works closely with the CFO, bookkeeper, members, grantors, and donors, to ensure that all current and future programs are appropriately handled. The position includes the following duties:

Administrative: Assist CFO & COO with weekly financial tasks. Maintain current records in database and paper files and produce database reports and queries, both for donors and members.

Development: Coordinate, assist, and research fundraising efforts at CLS. Also will manage mailings, fundraising events, process online donations, CFC applications and management, produce thank you notes on a weekly basis. Will assist the executive director on development trips.

Communications: Assist with website maintenance for all four ministries, direct social media, press releases and blog management/maintenance.

Office Support: Maintain office supplies and office vendor relationships, various office duties that arise in small nonprofit organization.

The ideal candidate will have a college degree and at least a year of professional experience, preferably in development database management (Blackbaud or similar) or writing for fundraising. Must be a technically inclined self-starter with high attention to detail and understand good customer service. .
